Two weeks ago, Rivers Spencer Interiors made the annual trek to High Point Market to see the latest furniture collections. Thousands of people attend market each year and it’s a great way to catch up with friends in the industry and meet new people. It is a wonderful event that is inspiring and a little exhausting from trying to see it all in a few short days! Here are some of the highlights from this year’s market:
Highland House Furniture: Discovering Highland House was a highlight of our trip! They have so many wonderful pieces! I will do a blog post on them soon to more formally introduce you to this great company.
Jan Showers for Kravet: Jan Showers is one of my favorite Designers and her collection for Kravet was on point.

Mark D. Sikes for Henredon: Mark Sikes presented a beautiful collection for Henredon. The much buzzed about debut did not disappoint!

Suzanne Kasler for Hickory Chair: I love Suzanne Kasler’s collection for Hickory Chair and regularly use her pieces in my designs.

Verellen: One of my favorite furniture lines, Verellen creates quality made upholstered pieces including these chic chaises.
Christopher Spitzmiller for Visual Comfort: Acclaimed ceramicist Christopher Spitzmiller debuted his more modern and affordable collection for Visual Comfort. I bet this collection will be an instant hit with Designers and clients alike.

Legacy Home: I wrote a blog post about this line here. I can’t wait to redo the bedroom in our Magazine Street showroom using their beautiful linens.
As you can see, we had a successful trip! Have a great weekend!
Even though we still have warm days, it’s technically fall which is my favorite season in New Orleans. To celebrate the season, here are a few favorites:
1. Anything pumpkin or pumpkin spice! I recently made this lighter version of chocolate chip pumpkin bread and it turned out delicious. I saved one for myself and gave one away as a hostess gift.
2. New Orleans inaugural Beignet Festival. New Orleans hosts over 130 festivals each year and who doesn’t love Beignets? This free festival is held at Lafayette Square this Saturday from 10-4pm and proceeds support Tres Doux Foundation, an organization to help children with autism. Over 15 restaurants will serve beignets.
3. With the cooler temps, tailgates and upcoming holiday season, it is cocktail season! We have beautiful decanters and bar ware options to dress up your bar cart for the season.
I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the fall season!
Even though tomorrow is October 1st, it still feels like summer in New Orleans with our warm 80+ degree weather. However, with the introduction of everything pumpkin spice in stores, I’m trying to get into the fall spirit as I anxiously await cooler temperatures. I love the colors of fall when the leaves change color and reveal a rich palette of yellow, orange and brown. One way I bring fall into my own home is by picking up some branches (either from outside or from a florist) and arranging them in a vase. I absolutely love this look as the arrangement adds height and drama and breathes life into a room. I used some branches this past Spring in one of my New Orleans projects:

We offer several beautiful vases online here that you can use to create your own arrangement. How do you like to decorate for fall?
